South African Youth Exchange (SAYX) is a youth program of the Ubuntu Institute in partnership with Awesome Travel that has been facilitating work and internships abroad for the last 8 years on programs ranging from 6 – 12 months.

We have secured funding to give hospitality students, recent graduates and non-graduates with work experience, an opportunity of a lifetime by applying for a bursary to go overseas on an international cultural exchange programme. The funding is through Ubuntu Institute, which is a youth focused organization. As we know one of the biggest stumbling blocks for young people to go overseas is the high cost of international travel, we would like to offer this programme to the most deserving students. The international community is always eager to assist South Africans with internships to afford students and graduates the opportunity to gain work experience and thus make them more “employable” upon their return to South Africa.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the smooth running of my travelling trip from Cape Town via Amsterdam to Edinburgh. It as been such an amazing experience being so high above land and the sight of being up there was so amazing. Scotland is really a peaceful country, and the Crieff's staff seem really friendly. Thank you so much for your support and hard work you are really appreciated and I will prove to you that I really want to be here by making a success no matter what.

I just want to take this opportunity and thank you for the great opportunity and really thank you for making it possible for me to get this far. I just want you to know that I really appreciate it, so much. I'm still learning to adjust to the cold and the time zone. And the altitude sickness is really getting to me. MAY THE GOOD LORD RICHLY BLESS YOU, you are really doing a great job.
